Fort Worth Side Pull Bridle Fix

As you may already know, off the shelf FW products can be a poorly assembled, sized, and over priced.

In this tutorial I am adjusting the sizing to a standard Cob. The bridle arrived as a (half full half pony). Basically it was never going to fit any horse properly.

OK lets start.

Before. Good leather, poorly sized.
Carefully slice the stitching
Pull appart
Remove hardware
Trim length
Thin leather
Taper the leather
Trim the tongue
Punch the buckle hole. Ive
Thin the leather for the bend
Check buckle fit
Wax stitch fork & punch holes
In the correct position tap fork threw to mark holes on other side.
Lite punch to mark
Check marks
Punch marked holes
The pins needs to fit well. Not tight or loose
Start stitching. I have elected to stitch the way I prefer rather than following the previous patern.
Back stitch one hole prior to crossing
Twist the Crossover
Back stitch
You can see that I have not used all the old stitch holes. The original looked a little messy. This is the back side and the unused holes will not be seen.
Only a small thing, but letting an item go out with a blind hole is not a good look
Frame all done ✔️

Now to start on the brow band extension.
