Paula Boer is an Australian author, nature lover and citizen scientist whose writing reflects her lifelong passion for wildlife, horses and the natural world. She lives in the Snowy Mountains on a large wildlife sanctuary and has travelled extensively, experiences that often inform her storytelling. Boer is best known for her popular Brumbies adventure series for young readers and the Equinora Chronicles, a horse-centric fantasy trilogy. Her work spans middle-grade and young adult fiction, science fiction (including the novel Kat, co-written with Michael B. Fletcher) as well as non-fiction nature photography and environmental observation projects, such as Bushfire Recovery at Badja. In addition to her books, she writes short stories and magazine articles about animals, serves as a submissions reader and judge for the Aurealis Awards, and is a Full Member of the Australian Society of Authors.
